Seed Description

Seedpod triangular, flat c.10mm long. Pods turn brown and become brittle when ripe, rattle when shaken. Each pod usually contains one seed which turn from green to black on maturity.

Seed Pre-Treatment: Soak in near-boiling water for about 30 seconds, before cooling rapidly under flowing cold water then soak for half hour.
Cover with potting mix 1 or 2 times the depth of seed.


Seed prone to rotting - do not overwater.


Germinates in 3-8 weeks.

Pests and Disease

Seedlings prone to powdery mildew.
Susceptible to Cinnamon fungus (Phytophthora cinnamomi).
